Abstract

Objective: Fintech is an advanced type of technology that leads to an improved quality of life and enhancement of human development indicators. Since the use of this technology requires the proper utilization on energy and various resources, examining the relationship between energy consumption and Fintech in relation to human development is important. This study aims to explore this issue through a comparative analysis between developing and countries.

Method: The method used in the study is the panel data method. The period under review is from 2000 to 2022, and 20 developing and developed countries are examined.

Results: The results show that fintech has a positive and significant effect on HDI in developed countries. In developing countries, fintech also has a positive effect. Moreover, the impact of energy consumption on HDI in developed countries is greater than in developing countries.

Conclusion: The findings emphasize the importance of increasing fintech access and energy efficiency to enhance human development. Fintech can play a strategic role in boosting HDI, especially in developing countries that aim to bridge the development gap.
