بررسی نقش واسطه‌ای کیفیت نهادی در رابطه مابین توسعه اقتصادی و آلودگی محیطی

چکیده
هدف: هدف این پژوهش مدل‌سازی و تبیین رابطه‌ی پویا و متقابل میان توسعه اقتصادی و آلودگی محیطی با درنظر گرفتن نقش واسطه‌ای و تعدیل‌کنندگی کیفیت نهادی در کشورهای عضو منا است.
 
روش: پژوهش حاضر کاربردی است. بازه زمانی پژوهش سال‌های 2010 تا 2023 است. برای ساختن شاخصهای متغیرهای کیفیت نهادی، توسعه اقتصادی و آلودگی محیطی از رویکرد تحلیل مؤلفه اصلی استفاده شد تا مؤلفه‌های معنادار استخراج گردند.
 
یافته‌ها: نتایج نشان می‌دهد بدون در نظر گرفتن اثرات کیفیت نهادی، توسعه اقتصادی در مراحل اولیه موجب افزایش آلودگی محیطی و در مراحل بعدی منجر به کاهش آن می‌شود؛ این الگو با فرضیه منحنی کوزنتس زیست‌محیطی همخوانی دارد. از سوی دیگر، آلودگی محیطی در بلندمدت اثر منفی و معناداری بر توسعه اقتصادی بر جای می‌گذارد. همچنین کیفیت و کارایی نهادها سبب کاهش اثر منفی توسعه اقتصادی بر آلودگی محیطی شده و این رابطه را به میزان 966/0 درصد بهبود می‌بخشد؛ نقش نهادها در کاهش اثرات منفی آلودگی محیطی بر توسعه اقتصادی به میزان 719/0 درصد نیز قابل مشاهده است.
 
نتیجه‌گیری: نتایج تحقیق نشان می‌دهد که ارتقای کیفیت نهادها، شفافیت در سیاست‌گذاری و ثبات نهادی و اقتصادی، به کاهش تخریب محیط زیست و افزایش بهره‌وری اقتصادی منجر می‌شود. بر اساس یافته‌ها، سرمایه‌گذاری در فناوری‌های پاک، اصلاح ساختار نهادی و استفاده از مالیات‌های زیست‌محیطی می‌تواند اثرات منفی توسعه اقتصادی بر محیط زیست را کاهش دهد. بنابراین، سیاست‌گذاران کشورهای منطقه منا می‌توانند مسیر توسعه را به سوی اقتصاد دانش‌بنیان و پایدار هدایت کنند، به‌طوری که هم رشد اقتصادی و هم کیفیت محیط زیست بهبود یابد.
